Sagebrush Films specializes in candid, natural wedding films. Weddings are awesome. Most wedding videos are corny. Sagebrush Films was created to fix that. We capture your day as it happens naturally, without the gimmicks and cheeseball editing. It should go without saying, but we film weddings for couples of any religion, orientation, color or creed.

I would describe my style as raw and simple. My influences range from Hollywood cinematographers like Roger Deakins to skate filmers like Beagle and Jon Miner. When I'm behind the camera, I try to let the subject be the focus, rather than flashy camera movement or over the top editing.

    Hiring Joel as our wedding videographer was easily one of the best decisions we made throughout the entire planning process. From start to finish, he went so far above and beyond our expectations that it’s hard to put into words just how grateful we are for his artistry, professionalism, and care. In the months leading up to our wedding, Joel was incredibly responsive to all of our emails and messages. No question felt too small, and he always made time to explain his process and help us feel confident and excited about the vision. He was also so communicative with our coordinator and photographer, which made the day flow seamlessly and made us feel like we were in the best hands possible. On the day of the wedding, Joel was somehow everywhere we needed him to be, capturing every important moment big and small, without it ever feeling intrusive or staged. He truly has a gift for reading the room, staying grounded in the moment, and making everyone feel comfortable and natural on camera. When we received our final film, we were blown away. It was intentional, emotional, artistic, and, simply put, felt exactly like us. Joel captured our wedding day in a way that made it feel like a dreamy, timeless memory we can revisit again and again. The way he wove in Super 8 film added such a rich, nostalgic texture to the footage; it elevated the entire experience and gave it a classic, heirloom feel. His choice of music was also flawless. Without us giving a detailed list, he somehow chose songs that meant so much to us—ones that felt personal and intimate and brought the whole film to life in a deeply emotional way. What really stands out is how well Joel listened—not just to what we said we wanted, but also to what we couldn’t quite articulate. He anticipated the kinds of moments and feelings that mattered to us most, and built a film that felt intentional in every frame. It didn’t feel like a generic wedding video. It felt like our story—personal, thoughtful, romantic, joyful, and real. It is so clear that Joel doesn’t just make wedding videos—he embraces storytelling in its purest form. He has an intuitive understanding of pacing, emotion, and atmosphere, and uses that to craft a narrative that feels honest and thoughtful. He told the story of our wedding day with heart and clarity, and it’s a story we’ll treasure for the rest of our lives. We truly wish we could recommend Joel a million times over! He’s a rare talent and such a kind, calming presence to have with you on such an important day. If you’re considering hiring him—do it. It will be one of the best decisions you make.     We are one year late writing this review, but we just watched our wedding video on our first anniversary, and we are in tears. Sagebrush did an AMAZING job capturing our day. They took such great care of us and really listened to what we wanted. They took our ideas further than we could have imaged. We consider our wedding video to be one of our favorite assets from the best day of our lives. WE ARE SO THANKFUL! Do not hesitate to bring them aboard your day.

    Joel was absolutely incredible! His professionalism, communication, and eye for detail were outstanding from start to finish. He blended seamlessly into our wedding day, capturing every detail without interrupting the flow or pulling us away for overly scripted shots. He was truly the perfect person for the job! We especially loved the option to add Super8, which gave us that perfect vintage feel we were looking for. Having the option to add on all the raw footage was a huge bonus, too. The highlight video was everything we wanted and more—beautifully produced and a perfect reflection of our special day. Thanks to Joel, we can relive our wedding day over and over again, and we couldn't be happier with his work! We can't recommend Sagebrush Films enough—if you want a talented, professional, authentic, and detail-oriented videographer, Joel is your guy!

    We are so happy we hired Joel to film our wedding! Joel was a pro when it came to filming the ceremony and reception, we love the final cut he delivered to us. He also was great at taking notes, since we did request a song change and few tweaks to our final wedding video. We appreciate that Joel was so great with the feedback and made sure our video was picture perfect. Also I loved being able to have Super 8 footage of our wedding. We love the retro feel so that definitely was very special to us. Would hire Joel again! Do yourself a favor and book him!
